The early part of the 2025 Tour was all about Tadej Pogačar. The Slovenian rider won his 100th career stage in Normandy, conquering the hills between Amiens and Rouen in style, and then snagged the yellow jersey by finishing second to Remco Evenepoel in the time trial around Caen, living up to his status as the pre-event favourite. Stay tuned to TNT Sports, where there’s daily live coverage, to find out if he’s wearing it on the final stage in Paris.
And as the men’s Tour reaches its end, the women’s version begins. It starts in Brittany with a 79km route from Vannes to Plumelec, and finishes on 3 August in the Alps, with some tough climbs including the Col de la Madeleine along the way. There are 22 teams taking part, and among the leading contenders are four-time Giro d’Italia winner Anna van der Breggen of the Netherlands and French rider Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, a world champ in cyclo-cross and mountain biking as well as road racing.
With another high-level event – the men’s Tour of Poland – up next, it’s an incredible summer of cycling on TNT Sports.

Football: FA Community Shield
Wembley hosts the Premier League champions and the FA Cup winners for the match that marks the start of the new English top-flight season. It’s one that normally has a celebratory atmosphere, although that may be slightly subdued this year as Liverpool’s players, staff and fans come to terms with the death of Diogo Jota. More prosaically, the gloss has come off Palace’s Cup win thanks to the lengthy legal wrangle over their participation in European football.
Once the tributes have been paid, we’ll hope to see an entertaining match on TNT Sports, possibly featuring Liverpool’s new record signing Florian Wirtz among other new faces.
Liverpool v Crystal Palace
Sunday 10 August, 2pm, TNT Sports 1 HD (CH 521)
Football: Premier League
)
TNT Sports’ first live Premier League game of 2025/26 features two clubs most definitely on the rise. One or other has qualified for the Champions League in the past three seasons, and Villa reached the quarter-finals last year, losing to eventual champs PSG. Over the summer both will surely make significant additions to their squads as they look to challenge at home and in Europe once again – and who’s to say they can’t feature in the title race too?
Unai Emery and Eddie Howe have both proved shrewd coaching appointments perfectly suited to their respective clubs, and we’d expect any signings they made to be similarly smart. But both already have enough attacking talent – Alexander Isak, Ollie Watkins, Anthony Gordon, Youri Tielemans – to make this an exciting match in prospect.
Aston Villa v Newcastle United
Saturday 16 August, 11am, TNT Sports 1 HD (CH 521)
Football: UEFA Super Cup
)
There’s no doubt European champions Paris St-Germain are a terrific team, but they’ll arrive at the Super Cup match struggling to recover from a long season that ended with seven FIFA Club World Cup games in the US summer heat, the final just a month before this match-up. That’s what Europa League holders Spurs will be hoping, anyway, because judging by the two sides’ form over the past few months, exhaustion for les Parisiens must be Tottenham’s best chance of a win.
But there is renewed ambition for the north Londoners under coach Thomas Frank, who’s brought positivity from Brentford, and fans will also hope to see some new signings (such as Ghana international Mohammed Kudus) in the traditional European curtain-raiser. This year it’s being held in Udine, Italy.
Paris Saint-Germain v Tottenham Hotspur
Wednesday 13 August, 7pm, TNT Sports
Football: NWSL
Kansas City Current were top of the NWSL for most of the first half of the 2024 season, but slipped back towards the end and lost in the play-offs. This year they’re apparently determined not to let that happen again and, going into the midseason break, they had opened up an eight-point lead. Their excellent form has included a 4-2 victory over Racing Louisville, in which they were 3-0 up before the 20-minute mark, a demonstration of the serious attacking power they have – exemplified by Malawi international Temwa Chawinga and Brazil’s Bia Zaneratto.
Racing, who are in contention for the play-offs and won three of their last four games before the pause, will hope to offer stiffer opposition at their home ground. Look out for more live NWSL matches on TNT Sports as the season resumes.

Motorsport: MotoGP
It’s Marc Márquez’s world; the other riders are just living in it. After some tough years when he struggled with injury and bike problems, the Spaniard has regained his position at the very top of the sport, racking up victory after victory in 2025 while no other rider has won more than a single MotoGP – allowing him to open up a commanding championship lead. It’s a privilege to watch a rider at the height of his powers, and everyone else is going to have to up their game considerably if they’re going to prevent him taking the trophy he’s claimed six times before.
This month the MotoGP action comes from Brno, Czechia, for the first time since 2020, and then Spielberg, Austria. Interestingly, the Red Bull Ring hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Márquez, who’s never won there in seven attempts. If anyone’s going to challenge him, this is the opportunity. Who will step up?

It was looking so good for Elfyn Evans and co-driver Scott Martin in the WRC’s early stages, with wins in Sweden and Kenya. Slowly but surely, their rivals are reeling them in: the French team of Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais and the Estonian pair Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja (who won the last event in Greece) are both within 12 points of the British duo going into the next race. The good news for Evans and Martin? Ogier and Landais won’t be competing and while the Estonians will be on home territory, they’ve won here only once, in 2020. This could be a great opportunity for the Brits to re-establish a sizeable lead. Next up, it’s Finland.
In Supercars, Broc Feeney has been making up for a slow start with a string of wins in his Camaro, which has helped both him and Triple Eight Racing to the top of the championship standings. This month the season heads to Ipswich, Queensland, not far from Feeney’s home town of Gold Coast.

Formula E has brought success to British racing, with Jake Dennis claiming the drivers’ championship in 2023, and Envision Racing and Jaguar TCS Racing taking the two most recent team championships. But this year is looking like the best yet for British drivers: Oliver Rowland claimed the championship in Berlin, and compatriots Taylor Barnard and Dan Ticktum have also been challenging for the top places. The final round of the season in London will be a glorious homecoming for the British drivers and teams, so don’t miss a minute of the high-speed races.

Poland’s Bartosz Zmarzlik is still top of the Grand Prix standings, but he finished runner-up in Gorzów to Australia’s Brady Kurtz – a result that was repeated at the Swedish Grand Prix in Målilla two weeks later (Britain’s Dan Bewley was third in both). It’s becoming a two-horse race, and defending champ Zmarzlik knows he’ll have to be at his courageous best over the remaining rounds to hold off Kurtz’s challenge. Say it with us: no brakes, NO FEAR.

British twin brothers Sam and Alex Lowes are both in contention for a high-placed finish in the championship as the Superbikes season heads to Hungary for what should be a thrilling race at the new Balaton Park circuit, live on TNT Sports. MMA: UFC
)
UFC 318 is the rare UFC main event not to have an official title fight as its headline bout, but Max Holloway is putting his unofficial “BMF” belt (it stands for what you probably think it stands for) on the line against Dustin Poirier. They have met on two previous occasions, including on Holloway’s UFC debut all the way back in 2012, and Poirier has won both – so Holloway will be determined to prove he’s, well, the BMF. The winner could get a shot at lightweight champ Ilia Topuria after the Georgian claimed the vacant title in June.
Then attention turns to the middleweight division for UFC 319, where there’s a mouthwatering headline fight scheduled between champion Dricus du Plessis and the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev. DDP has already defended the belt once when he saw off Sean Strickland by unanimous decision at UFC 312. This could be a real epic, since Chimaev’s most recent fight brought him a Performance of the Night win over Robert Whittaker. There’s UFC action every weekend this month and you don’t have to miss any of it with TNT Sports. MMA fans will be pleased to see they don’t have to stay up all night to watch live on 26 July, when Robert Whittaker v Reinier de Ridder is the headline bout in Abu Dhabi.

Cricket: Internationals
Australia won their Test series in the Caribbean but the matches were closer than many observers – and perhaps the Australian team themselves – expected, as the West Indies attack exposed serious flaws in the Aussie batting line-up. That will give the home team confidence as they go into a five-match T20 series against the same opponents, starting with two games at Kingston’s Sabina Park before moving on to St Kitts and Nevis for three matches in Basseterre. With the almost-guaranteed sunshine and the festival atmosphere, there are certainly worse places to watch cricket in the summertime, even on TV. Following that, West Indies host Pakistan for three T20 matches – taking place in Lauderhill, Florida – and three ODIs.

Basketball: WNBA
It’s the first season in the WNBA for new team (or “expansion franchise”) Golden State Valkyries, and they‘re making a decent fist of it, with 10 wins in their first 20 games. Natalie Nakase, in her first head coach position, received the league’s Coach of the Month award in May, and Veronica Burton and Kayla Thornton have been the stand-out players. They’re certainly having a better season than Connecticut, who are rooted to the bottom having lost their head coach Stephanie White and their entire starting line-up in the off-season. The new squad will need to start clicking – soon.

The All-Star Game marks the halfway point of the MLB season (as accurately as is reasonable, given there’s a total of 2,430 games a year) so from 16 July on, it’s a no-quarter-given downhill race to the play-offs. As the only Major League team based outside the US, the Toronto Blue Jays have the full-throated support of all Canadian baseball fans and it appears to be helping this year: they’ve edged ahead in their battle with the Yankees for top spot in the American League East, having whitewashed the New Yorkers 4-0 in their home series at the start of July.
Right fielder George Springer and shortstop Bo Bichette are among their best performers with the bat, and you can see the Blue Jays take on the San Francisco Giants on Saturday 20 July. Could they do what they haven’t done since their 1993 championship season and reach the World Series?

Australian Rules Football: AFL Men’s
We’re deep into the Aussie winter now, and that means there are only a few rounds left of the AFL men’s season. Collingwood Magpies have established a clear lead at the top of the ladder, but behind them there’s a fierce battle going on for those all-important finals qualifying places. Fremantle are on the fringes of the top eight and need to find consistency if they’re going to secure a spot. Their next opponents? Collingwood, of course.
Tune in on Sunday 20 July to see if the Dockers can take anything from this tough game, with plenty more AFL games live on TNT Sports this month. The final league round is at the end of August – and look out for the start of the AFL Women’s season in mid-August, also shown on TNT Sports.

Snooker: Shanghai Masters
)
World number one Judd Trump will be in Shanghai to defend the title he won in 2024, but most of the focus will doubtless be on Zhao Xintong, who comes here as the first ever snooker world champion from Asia and the sport’s newest star. He’s not exactly a home town hero for local fans – he’s from Shenzhen, which is 1,500km from Shanghai – but there will be plenty of interest and excitement as he enters this tournament for the first time.
The top eight seeds are already qualified for the round of 16, where Zhao could face England’s Chris Wakelin. Ronnie O’Sullivan, John Higgins and Mark Williams – who lost to Zhao in the world championship final – are also competing and all the action is live on TNT Sports.

The Great Britain team, helmed by Tokyo Olympic gold medallist Dylan Fletcher, made a great start to this year‘s SailGP campaign, finishing in the top three of the first three races including a win in Australia. Since then, they’ve been pegged back as Spain and New Zealand forged ahead with excellent results in the US-based rounds, but GB are still sitting fourth and will be gunning for a win in home waters. The British SailGP is in a new location this year, starting under the Spinnaker Tower in historic Portsmouth Harbour, and you can watch the action live on TNT Sports.
