Great time-saving PC shortcuts

Browser shortcuts Ctrl and F5 Refreshes the current window. This is especially useful for viewing updated web pages instead of the old version stored in your browser’s cache. Pressing F5 on its own reloads the page, but produces a ‘soft refresh’, using a version from the cache. Ctrl and F Opens the Find box or toolbar so that you can search the current web page for a specific word or phrase. In Microsoft Word, it brings up a Find and Replace box for making changes to a document. Alt and Home Takes you directly to your home page in IE or Firefox. Pressing Alt then the left or right arrow cursor keys allows you to navigate back and forth between web pages – like using the back and forward browser buttons at the top of the screen. Ctrl and Enter SThis saves you having to type out a whole web address by entering the ‘www’ and ‘.com’ part for you. Simply type the domain name into the IE or Firefox Address bar then use this shortcut to complete the URL. Ctrl and + This handy Firefox shortcut increases the text size of the current web page to make it easier to read. In the same way, you can decrease the text size by pressing Ctrl and -. Ctrl and H Opens the History folder in both IE and Firefox as a sidebar in the left-hand side of the browser window. This lets you view and quickly access web pages you’ve visited recently. F11 Displays the current web page full screen. Press F11 again to return to normal view. End Takes you directly to the bottom of a web page. Likewise, pressing Home takes you to the top while Page Up and Page Down take you up or down the equivalent of one screen within the source page. Webuser
