For an apparently non-descript patch of ocean, the Bermuda Triangle enjoys a fearsome reputation for being a repository for ships, planes and souls lost in unexplained circumstances.
The Bermuda Triangle first got its name in 1964 in an article by Argosy Magazine which catalogued some disappearances and dubbed it “The Deadly Bermuda Triangle”.
Where is it?
Also known as the Devil’s Triangle, its three main points are Bermuda, Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico. This encompasses 500,000 square miles of ocean and some believe it is one of 12 ‘vile vortices’ - mysterious and deadly regions of the world’s seas.
