Megamouth shark
The megamouth shark is an extremely rare and unusual species of deepwater shark. Discovered in 1976, only a few have ever been seen, with 43 specimens known to have been caught or sighted as of 2009 and just three recordings of it on film.
The megamouth lives at a depth of around 120-160 metres in the southern hemisphere oceans, where it swims with its mouth constantly open, catching plankton and jellyfish for food.
