Flip Video Ultra

This camera from the Flip range is half the price of its Flip HD Ultra stablemate,but there's a clear step down in quality. Once again it's verystraightforward to use, and boasts a pop-out USB connector.

The image quality on offer here isn't bad at all considering thatit's only standard-definition 640 x 480. It's a little too soft,perhaps, but it certainly produces videos of a good-enough quality foruploading to YouTube or watching on a small-to-medium-screen CRTtelevision.

Its audio quality was better than average too, butit's worth remembering this is an area where there's room forimprovement across the board with the current generation of mini videocameras.

Overall, the Flip Ultra is a solid, dependable andeasy-to-use video camera that won't disappoint if you're not expectinghi-def movies.

However, it's worth considering paying a little more for a device that can handle HD.
