Chinese giant salamander
The Zoological Society of London has compiled a list of endangered weird and wonderful amphibians as part of the Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) project. The ten following species face imminent extinction.
The Chinese giant salamander can grow up to 1.8m in length, and it's thought to have evolved from over one hundred million years before the reign of Tyrannosaurus Rex.
