Comic-Con trailer round up!

Proof, if proof be needed, that the geek shall inherit the Earth, some of the biggest things to come out of Comic-Con every year (apart from the awesome cosplay) are the movie trailers.  If you weren’t able to make it down to San Diego, then we’ve rounded up the best teases and trailers that will have nerds and non-nerds alike whipped up into a frenzy.

Wonder Woman

FINALLY, we’re getting a female-led superhero movie (still waiting on Black Widow, though).   Last seen giving Batman and Superman a helping hand in Dawn of Justice (available on Virgin Movies from Monday 1st August), Gal Gadot has power, grace, wisdom and lots of, erm, wonder in our first proper look at princess of the Amazons.

Best bit of dialogue: “What I do is not up to you”

Justice League

Whereas Wonder Woman showed off a bit more of a colourful palette compared to other DC films, this footage from Zack Snyder’s Justice League still looks a bit gloomy – would it hurt to turn on a light on once in a while? While Snyder still doesn’t seem to like colour very much, there looks to be a lot more humour this time around as Batman goes about putting the band together.  You can call him “Bants-man” from now on.

Most covetable item: The Flash’s second favourite chair

Suicide Squad

Meanwhile in another part of the DC universe, the worst heroes ever got another rocking trailer before the film’s release in August.  Touted as a ‘remix’, interspersing some new footage with scenes we’re already familiar with, once again it looks like Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is going to steal the show.  Please and thank you.

Song of the summer: “Purple Lamborghini” by Rick Ross and Skillrex

The LEGO Batman Movie

Only Bruce Wayne could sarcastically adopt an orphan from a charity gala.

Batfact: Batman doesn’t live in Bruce Wayne’s basement: Bruce Wayne lives in Batman’s attic.

Doctor Strange

We’re still not done with superheroes as Marvel also unveiled another awesome trailer for Doctor Strange, who it would appear has seen Inception a few too many times.

Best bit of advice: Not everything has to make sense.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

Nuh-uh, we’re not jealous AT ALL that Eddie Redmayne ran around Comic-Con’s Hall H handing out free wands to everyone <sniff>.  Nope.  In the meantime we’ll just have to console ourselves with the latest look at Fantastic Beasts, which although still light on plot, reveals more of the Wizarding World inhabited by Newt Scamander and co.   Just one question however: are they going to mind-wipe all of 1920s New York?

Plea to the powers that be: Can we please, please have a Harry Potter version of Pokemon Go?

Kong: Skull Island

Believe it or not, it wasn’t all about superheroes and mind-bending magic at Comic-Con: there were giant monkeys too!  King Kong gets another reboot (this time by the producers of Godzilla), and he doesn’t look too happy about having Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and Brie “Captain Marvel” Larson trespassing in his tree house.
