Still the benchmark for PC graphics this near photorealistic looking first person shooter is finally due out this year. What was shown at E3 focused on demonstrating the almost complete first level, which shows off the highly realistic jungle foliage and conventional North Korean army foes.

The makers of The Elder Scrolls series have bought the rights to one of the PC's most beloved role-playing games with a return to the darkly humorous post-apocalyptic wasteland. It uses a new first person view (with other optional camera angles) but the deep story and characters remain.


Unreal Tournament 3 (Midway/Epic Games)

After a lacklustre debut at E3 last year this hardcore multiplayer first person shooter is now a PS3 timed exclusive, with the 360 version not out until next year. With a guaranteed hard drive in every model the PS3 version can even use PC created fan mods and has Sixaxis control for hoverboards.


StarCraft II (Vivendi Games/Blizzard)

Although the majority of new information on this impossibly long awaited real-time strategy sequel will be unveiled at Blizzcon in August, this was still one of the PC's highlights of the show, with intricately detailed graphics on a par with the new units and gamplay features.
