However much hardcore fans may dismiss it this seems bound to be the best selling game of next year. It comes bundled with the new Balance Board - a sort of hyper advanced dance mat that is able to study your body and help you exercise and compete in a range of 40 different mini-games.

Super Mario Galaxy

One of the highlights of the whole of E3 this looks like the true successor to Super Mario 64 with stunning graphics (for the Wii) and an apparently endless parade of new ideas as you leap and fly between tiny planetoids and try on new outfits such as the bumblebee and ghost suits.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Samus may look like Master Chief's dream date but the closest thing Nintendo has to a first person shooter is still happily ploughing its own path. There is now a free aim mode with the remote but it doesn't appear to use the new lightgun style Wii Zapper controller.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Now confirmed not to be out this year in Europe (although America gets it on December 3rd) there was little new that was shown of Nintendo's mascot beat 'em-up at E3, though weekly updates at the official website though show Animal Crossing backdrops and hints of many more secrets to come.

Mario Kart Wii

The other major new revelation at E3, beyond Wii Fitness, seems to deliver everything fans want with an online mode confirmed, only one character per kart, impressive looking new graphics and even a new steering wheel peripheral - called simply Wii Wheel.
