Banana milkshake

A nutritious and hearty drink perfect as a mid meal snack or innocent dessert.
Ingredients
You will need a blender.
  • 2 large ripe bananas (ones with a few black spots are best as they are sweetest)
  • 1 pint of skimmed milk
  • Nutmeg
  • Tea spoon of vanilla essence
  • Half tray of ice cubes
  • 3 tablespoons of natural, probiotic yoghurt
  • Tablespoon of honey
Method
  1. Chop the bananas and add to the blender.
  2. Grate the desired amount of nutmeg into the blender and add ten drops of the vanilla essence.
  3. Add the honey, natural yoghurt and milk to the blending jug and whizz for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the ice cubes and blend for a further 30 seconds.
  5. Serve in a chilled glass.
Nutritional values Bananas are high in potassium which is needed for a healthy nervous system. This fruit is also a brilliant source of energy so makes a great breakfast fruit or a handy pick-me-up. As well as being known for containing natural antibiotic, the pectin in bananas helps to lower cholesterol. Natural "live" yoghurt is known to contain "friendly" bacteria that aids digestion.
