A nutritious and hearty drink perfect as a mid meal snack or innocent dessert.
- Ingredients
You will need a blender.
- 2 large ripe bananas (ones with a few black spots are best as they are sweetest)
- 1 pint of skimmed milk
- Nutmeg
- Tea spoon of vanilla essence
- Half tray of ice cubes
- 3 tablespoons of natural, probiotic yoghurt
- Tablespoon of honey
- Method
- Chop the bananas and add to the blender.
- Grate the desired amount of nutmeg into the blender and add ten drops of the vanilla essence.
- Add the honey, natural yoghurt and milk to the blending jug and whizz for 30 seconds.
- Add the ice cubes and blend for a further 30 seconds.
- Serve in a chilled glass.

Bananas are high in potassium which is needed for a healthy nervous system. This fruit is also a brilliant source of energy so makes a great breakfast fruit or a handy pick-me-up.
As well as being known for containing natural antibiotic, the pectin in bananas helps to lower cholesterol. Natural "live" yoghurt is known to contain "friendly" bacteria that aids digestion.
