Coving changes the shape of a room and looks difficult to put in - but in reality it's very simple. Follow these guidelines for hassle-free coving...
- Push a piece of coving into the corner and mark with a pencil where the lower edge will sit on the wall.
- Use a spirit level to draw a straight line from this mark.
- Take thin wire nails and hammer them half an inch into the wall along this line, every 18 inches or so.
- Apply adhesive to the coving where it will go against ceiling and wall.
- Rest the coving against the line, on top of the nails, and push it into the wall and ceiling. Don't push too hard as the nails may damage the coving.
- Wipe the wall edge - this will clear excess adhesive and fill any gaps.
