Where: West Wittering, Sussex.
What: Redlands, the house of Rolling Stone Keith Richards.
Why: One summer’s day in 1967 Mick Jagger and Keith Richards took several friends down to Keith’s recently-bought country pile, Redlands, in West Wittering near Chichester, and began to party.
But the police were waiting and after entering the house found drugs on several people including Jagger, as well as a naked Marianne Faithful.
Jagger and Richards received heavy fines and prison sentences of up to a year. But public opinion soon swung in the musician’s favour, and their sentences were eventually reduced to just fines. Redlands remains the country home of Richards.
