V12 Vantage - 2009
By rights, Aston Martin shouldn’t be here at all. The company has only made a profit in 10 of its 95 years but somehow its products keep inspiring investor after investor. Its mainstay may now be the suave and elegant DB9 but Aston’s latest proves it still knows how to make a British Bruiser.
The Gaydon engineers have taken the 6.0-litre V12 from the range-topping DBS and somehow squeezed it under the bonnet of the ‘baby’ Vantage for an instant 100bhp power boost.
Now boasting 510bhp, this pocket rocket will hit 62mph in a whisker over four seconds before heading on to 190mph.
Let’s hope they keep making cars like this.
