Student’s car wrecked by train
Cars colliding with trains, trucks trashing villages and cabs driving up rivers; sat navs are directing motorists into the path of destruction. These unbelievable real-life sat nav disasters will make you wonder why the atlas was ever put out to pasture.
A 20-year-old student miraculously walked away from a train collision that wrecked her car when she followed sat nav directions onto a railway track.
Paula Ceely’s Renault Clio was converted into a tin can while driving at night from her home in Redditch, Worcestershire to her boyfriend’s parents’ home in Carmarthenshire.
"The crossing wasn't shown on the sat nav, there were no signs at all and it wasn't lit up to warn of an oncoming train" she said. “I had never done the journey before so I was using the sat nav - completely dependent on it".
