Actors plucked from obscurity
Adverts sell you crap you do not need, and so it proved with George Lazenby; Bond-supremo Cubby Broccoli spotted the rugged Aussie in a Fry's Chocolate Cream advert and requested that he try on the tuxedo vacated by Sean Connery. 40 years on and OHMSS looks terribly underrated, with Lazenby doing nearly everything right… apart from getting the public to like him.
Did he stay famous? Yes, but only in the same way you or I would stay famous if we played James Bond that one time.
