Although she made her debut in 1934's Bright Eyes, Terry's star turn was as Toto in The Wizard Of Oz. The young Cairn Terrier pulled down a reported $125 a week (more than some Munchkins) and was Dorothy's companion on and off screen, sharing a gaff with Garland during filming. Terry went on to star in 13 movies in her career and although she died in 1944, the Guinness Book Of World Records claimed that Toto was stuffed and sold for $3,680 at auction in 1996.
