Being petrified of confined spaces is common, although this is taken to an extreme in the new Ryan Reynolds movie Buried. He plays a contractor kidnapped in Iraq who wakes up in a coffin buried in a desert with only a lighter, mobile phone and limited oxygen (let's hope that he didn't feast on baked beans beforehand). The scenario, which also cropped up in Kill Bill Vol. 2, should make claustrophobes accept that a lift is not such a bad place after all.
