The real... Inside Man

Taking inspiration from Spike Lee's 2006 heist drama Inside Man, a robber in Ashford, west London, yesterday took 16 hostages in a Barclays bank. The movie twist? He was dressed in a boiler suit a la Clive Owen's dashing criminal and came armed with spares, handing them out to bank staff so as to mask his identity. Unfortunately, after a lengthy stand-off, the robber gave himself up, so we'll never know if he was trying to expose Nazi secrets stored in the bank vault.
