Godzilla in all his (ahem) CGI glory.
When radioactive contamination morphs a lizard's DNA into elephantine proportions, the monster terrorises the pants off Manhattan-ites, giving the city that never sleeps a wake-up call. Dogged by controversy; audio specialists declared the soundtrack dangerously ear-splitting. The FBI reportedly believed Al-Qaeda got ideas about attacking NYC buildings from Godzilla – mind you, the green suits would probably give them away.
This is the perfect Saturday afternoon, naff B-movie, and stars Diane Ladd (mum of Laura Dern, Dr. Ellie Sattler in Jurassic Park). Evil scientist Ladd’s mantra is “The earth was not made for us - she was made for the dinosaurs”, as she aims to wipe out mankind using her genetically-modified Carnosaurs. Or as the tagline goes: ‘Driven to extinction – back for revenge’.
