Why the sad face?
With cine-god Kubrick at the helm of history's longest shoot (400 days) and Cruise and Kidman supposedly laying bare their marriage on screen, expectations soared sky high. But Kubrick, who died 4 months before its release (a lucky escape), was allegedly unhappy with the result, partly blaming the couple's lacklustre sexual chemistry.
Verdict: Kubrick considered casting Woody Allen in Cruise's role, he may have been a sexier option!
