Comedian Simon Pegg is the latest star to be offered a role in the new Star Trek movie.
The star of Hot Fuzz and Run, Fat Boy, Run is set to play Scotty, Chief Engineer of the Starship Enterprise, in the eleventh Star Trek movie to be directed by Lost creator JJ Abrams.
Pegg will be joining the star-studded cast of Eric Bana, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and original Spock actor Leonard Nimoy.
The, as yet untitled Star Trek movie is due out on Boxing Day 2008.
