Daily Show host John Stewart has been revealed as the host of the 80th Academy Awards.
Since taking over from Billy Crystal two years ago his sharp sense of humour and political satire has courted controversy (and provided many a laugh) with comments such as "Björk couldn't be here tonight. She was trying on her Oscar dress and Dick Cheney shot her."
The previous year the Icelandic singer Bjork wore an eye-turning 'swan dress'.
