Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon have signed up to co-star in 'Mud'.
The 'Lincoln Lawyer' star will take on the title role of the charismatic fugitive Mud, who is aided by a 14-year-old boy ('Tree of Life's Tye Sheridan) as he attempts to reunite with his soul mate Juniper (Reese) in the Jeff Nichols directed movie.
Everest Entertainment founder Lisa Maria Falcone - who will produced the film alongside Sarah Green and FilmNation Entertainment's Aaron Ryder - said: "Jeff Nichols has written a beautiful story with rich characters learning valuable lessons through life-changing circumstances. With Jeff's vision, this will be a work of art.
"It's an incredible script which Jeff, along with Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Tye Sheridan, will bring to life. We've been privileged to work with incredible filmmakers like Danny Boyle, Tom McCarthy and Rodrigo Garcia and are thankful to add Jeff Nichols to that list."
FilmNation's Glen Basner will act as executive producer.
Matthew has recently completed work on 'Bernie' and 'Killer Joe' and is currently filming 'The Paperboy' while Reese has signed up for the lead role in Disney movie 'Wish List'.
Reese will play a woman who, as a child, made 10 wishes in a well after throwing a coin in that becomes stuck.
Although her dreams do not come true when she is younger, the coin she threw in dislodges itself years later, causing all the childhood wishes to come true at once.
