You voted, we counted. Last year saw hundreds of thousands of votes cast, with record levels of interest from all four corners of the globe.

Red Hot Chili Peppers made it a hat-trick, scooping Best Single, Best Album and Best Video for their crowded virtual awards mantelpiece. Madonna reigned supreme as Best Solo Artist for the second year running, while a hard-fought battle between McFly, My Chemical Romance and Lostprophets left the UK pop quartet victorious. There was a surprise win for Pink in the Best Comeback category, leaving Take That - who staged a phenomenal chart return in 2006: in a lowly third place. There were no surprises in the Worst Single category, however: you voted in your thousands to send Miss Paris Hilton home with egg on her face.

Setting hearts aflutter were new Sugababes recruit Amelle Berrabah (who pipped Girls Aloud'sSarah Hardingat the final post) and hunky McFly bassist Dougie Poynter (who obliterated the competition). Finally, the inaugural Best Fansite award went to the very super www.mcflymaniacs.net. We were inundated with entries, but this particular site caught our eye for its great design, comprehensive and imaginative content and thriving community. Great work, guys!
