Bryan Adams

The son of a diplomat, Adams spent his childhood travelling the world with his parents. He left school at 15 to pursue his dream of being a rock star, singing in clubs with different bands, releasing his first album with Sweeney Todd and embarking on a songwriting partnership with drummer Jim Vallance that in time provided songs for artists as diverse as Carly Simon, Kiss, Neil Diamond and Rod Stewart. Adams' self-titled debut solo album was released in 1980 and he went on to record a string of international hits including Run To You, Summer Of 69 and It's Only Love, a duet with Tina Turner. His biggest hit, though, was the 1991 power ballad (Everything I Do) I Do It For You from the movie Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, Number 1 in the UK for a record-breaking 16 weeks. Other movie hits have included themes for the movies The Guardian and Bobby.
