Carly Rae Jepsen

A teen sensation full of bubblegum pop and clean-cut, sweet melodies, Carly Rae Jepsen finished third on the 2007 series of talent show Canadian Idol, but went on to huge global stardom thanks to the endorsement of Justin Bieber. Born and raised in Mission, British Columbia, Jepsen was signed to Fontana/Maple Music after the show and released a cover of John Denver's Sunshine On My Shoulders. Her debut album Tug Of War (2011) proved a small hit in Canada - but it was when Justin Bieber heard her track Call Me Maybe and tweeted his approval, that things really took off. With over 27 million hits on YouTube, the single topped the charts in the UK, US, Canada and nine other countries and made Jepsen one of the hottest stars on the planet. The EP Curiosity (2012) was released in her homeland, and she was soon at work on her second album and a much touted duet with Bieber.
