Empire of the Sun
Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore originally met in Sydney in 2000 and talked of putting a band together then, though it took eight years to materialise. Steele, the son of a blues musician, was living in Perth at the time singing and playing guitar in another band, The Sleepy Jackson. Based in Sydney, Nick Littlemore was also busy in a dance duo called Pnau with Peter Mayes so the project they discussed putting together went on the back burner for several years. In 2007 Littlemore invited Steele, who had moved to Sydney, to work with him on a track, With You Forever, for a new Pnau album and they enjoyed the collaboration so much they decided to revive the idea of an electronic duo together - Empire of the Sun. First single Walking On A Dream was a Top 10 hit and their 2008 debut album - also called Walking On A Dream - established them worldwide.
