Sophie Ellis-Bextor: Trip The Light Fantastic review
Artist Sophie Ellis-Bextor Label Fascination Release date 21st May 2007 Genre Pop/disco Plummy pop princess plunders production palette for patchy, er, album Before Groovejet, Sophie Ellis-Bextor was simply the young Chrissy Hynde-soundalike vocalist in terrible indie also-rans theaudience - but, thanks to one catchy club tune and a protracted media tussle with Posh Spice, her name became synonymous with well-produced disco.... While this is a super-glossy piece of work, it does nothing to dispel the image of Sophie Ellis-Bextor as making club music it's OK for your mum to like.
