Top facts:
- The name Air is actually an acronym for Amore, Imagination, Reve, which transtlates into English as Love, Imagination, Dream.
- Air are the musical muses of American film director Sofia Coppola. They wrote the score for her debut movie The Virgin Suicides and their drummer Brian Reitzell compiled the soundtrack for Lost In Translation which, unsurprisingly, features Air. The band also feature on her latest film, Marie Antoinette.
- Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel both grew up in Versailles, near Paris, but didn't actually meet until they were both at college. Godin studied architecture and Dunckel read maths.
