What a year in pop it's been. Great records were released, classic festivals were attended, bands split, bands reformed and we lost some legendary names. Let's look back on the last 12 months beginning - neatly enough - with January.
The year began on a low note with the death of Gerry Rafferty, singer of Baker Street (with, er, Bob Holness's amazing sax solo) and Stuck In The Middle With You. But there were bright spots too, not least Rihanna becoming the first female to hit number one five years in a row, this time with What's My Name. And what's this? Adele released her second album 21. We'll be hearing more about that.
