M.I.A, the controversy-courting rapper, has hardly been out of the headlines this week. After "flipping the bird" at the Super Bowl and angering Madonna in the process, she found herself under scrutiny again, this time for somewhat strange demands in her tour rider. Aside from the standard demands of "European cheeses", "quality chocolates" and booze, the rapper apparently stipulates she needs: "Three female extras for each show, each between 20 and 25 years old who have stage presence and groove to the music on stage for the full duration of the show wearing full covered burkas".
