Through intimidation and sheer force of will, Bob Geldof managed to coral the cream of 80s pop into a studio at the same time to help raise money for Ethiopian famine relief.

Although it's been re-recorded several times, nothing will ever come close to the original - not least for the brilliant vocal, big hair face-off that takes place in the first verse (Bono wins) but also for the storming "feed the world" chorus. Bloody brilliant.
