Having joined Take That at the tender age of 15, Robbie helped catapult them to pop stardom in the UK. But he became increasingly frustrated at the constraints of being in a boyband and didn’t feel that his ideas were taken seriously by Gary Barlow or their manager Nigel Martin-Smith. The other four got sick of him and eventually asked him to leave. For 12 years Robbie would avoid all contact with Gary.
