Leona's pre-Spirit makeover - during which she hit the headlines for presenting a very sultry image - she credits to the stylist for a mermaid-themed shoot for Harpers Bazaar. She chose mermaids because of the imaginativeness of the theme and its closeness to nature - she's been a vegetarian since the age of 12.
Leona set up the website www.yougivemestrength.com with Sport Relief, inviting users to upload their stories about anyone who's been an inspiration to them. Kelly Clarkson
Leona's debut single, A Moment Like This (a cover of the Kelly Clarkson song), sold more than one million copies in total - and broke a world download record, being purchased digitally more than 50,000 times in only half an hour. Other notable cover versions by Lewis include her version of Roberta Flack's The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, and a version of Snow Patrol's Run, recorded for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.
