The CD single has clearly seen better days – but the great music format undertaker will no doubt be preparing a little casket a little more intently with the news that highstreet chain Woolworths is turning its back on it. There'll be no more CD singles sold in the store come August – yet another rite of the dedicated pop devotee is consigned to the history books.
