Jandek
For someone so prolific (he's released 45 albums to date over nearly 30 years), little is known of the reclusive Jandek, since he refuses to participate in interviews or release biographical information. Best described as eerie, monotonous, atonal acoustic guitar music with vocals sounding like the ramblings of a drunken old man, there runs throughout an intense feeling of isolation and peculiarity. Kurt Cobain was cited as a fan, but stated in an interview: "Jandek's not pretentious, but only pretentious people like his music." A documentary - Jandek On Corwood - attempted to bring light to the mystery in 2003.
