Cherish - Unappreciated review

Atlantic-based quartet Cherish are sisters Farrah and Neosha and twins Felisha and Fallon. Their slickly produced and performed R&B is going down a storm on the other side of the pond and there's no reason why it shouldn't be the as well received over here.

Tracks like Do It To It, featuring Sean Paul of the Youngbloodz, and the foursome's new single, is a catchy, funky slice of R&B pop and throughout the album can be found the usual hallmarks of the music. Consequently, fans won't be disappointed in the least.

The album is safe and sound and when it strays into more edgy territory as on Taken, it merely serves to hint at what this lot might have been capable of had they really gone for it. As with many acts of this type there is the by now obligatory Destiny's Child homage, which in Cherish's case is the album's title track - a perfectly acceptable song about love gone sour, but about as cutting edge as a knife made out of foam rubber.

Great voices, some decent tunes, but hardly ground-breaking stuff.
