Girls Aloud - Biology review

As our second peek at the Girls' forthcoming album, Chemistry - following the effervescent but relatively unexciting Long Hot Summer - Biology (are we spotting a theme here?) hearteningly suggests that all the hopes we've been pinning on Xenomania to save the pop world from mediocrity have not been in vain. Opening with the kind of saucy cabaret you'd expect to find in a gin-soaked saloon bar, it soon shifts gears into a glorious chorus of fizzing, gliding synths and deceptively breakneck beats. Not quite the multi-parted work of compositional genius that some journos have declared, but still proof positive that the Xenomania/Girls Aloud union is as hot as ever.
