Amy Childs to star in UK Simple Life
Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge are to star in a British version of 'The Simple Life'.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' stars - who are best pals as well as cousins - will tackle a series of "tough" challenges for the new Channel 5 show, which will be based on Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's hit US series.
Dubbed 'The Simpleton Life', the programme will see the duo roll up their sleeves for a shift at an Essex branch of Domino's Pizza, go deep sea fishing in the Outer Hebrides and spend a day underground in a Welsh coal mine.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The show will be just like 'The Simple Life' but, dare I say it, even more ridiculous.
"Amy and Harry are not exactly known for their ability to do everyday tasks so it's a car crash waiting to happen.
"In fairness, they are quite funny as a duo and bosses are hoping their daft chemistry will keep people entertained."
Amy - whose eight-part reality show 'It's All About Amy' was recently given the chop after just one series - has previously hinted she has "two new TV shows" in the pipeline.
She said: "Lots of fans have been asking me to go back [to 'TOWIE'] because they miss me, which is sweet, but unfortunately there is no going back.
"My show wasn't axed - it was always only going to be an eight-part series! The truth is, I have some big things coming up, including two new TV shows, which have been confirmed, but I can't talk about them now. As soon as I can, I'll let you all know - and hopefully that will put an end to the rumours."
