Tuffers' Tips

Once known as 'The Cat' for his ability to snooze in the dressing room, spin bowler Phil Tufnell was a legendary character in English cricket, taking 121 wickets in 42 Test Matches between 1990 and 2001.

Like a cricket ball polished in the groin region, Tuffers' popularity rubbed off on the public after he won I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! in 2003, after which he became a captain on the BBC quiz They Think It's All Over.

Always a keen gambler, Phil is a regular on the celeb poker circuit and has been in his fair share of bookies and casinos whilst touring the globe. So, who better to have as our fortnightly betting columnist?

We kick off with a general gambling-related brain poke, plus some tips for the upcoming Cricket World Cup. And stay tuned as we find out just how good Tuffers' Tips really are!

VM: Hi Phil, how's it going?

PT: "Very well thanks. Just getting in the zone for some celeb poker tonight!"

VM: Who are you up against?

PT: "No idea yet actually! It's all a mystery until you turn up, so you never know what you're up against..."

VM: Which famous folks have you bankrupted in the past?

PT: "Ha ha! I wish. Well, I managed to win a TV match against a bunch of other cricketers like Min Patel (Kent spinner) - a good poker player who's been to Vegas and done his stuff in the past - Ed Giddins as well. I got knocked out in the final though, which was a bit of a blow. Always learning though!"
