Croatia

Slaven Bilic’s Croatia may have swept Steve McClaren’s team aside at Wembley, but this time around it’ll be a different story. Although they’re tactically aware and never short of passion, a more clinical England attack should unlock a defence that’s short on answers.

Ukraine

The Ukranians may only be ranked a lowly 29th in the word, but that doesn’t mean they’re short of firepower, not with Chelsea’s potent Andrei Shevchenko up front. But England’s recent record against them is excellent, pasting the former Soviet state 3-0 at St. James’ Park in 2004 and 2-0 at Wembley in 2000.

Belarus

Ranked some forty places below England the Belarusians should be comparatively easy to turn over – even at the intimidating Dinamo Stadium. Their danger man is Arsenal’s Alexander Hleb, but one midfield predator does not a World Cup team make.

Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s impact on the world stage has been less than seismic so far, though they did squeeze out Serbia 2-1 in March. Ranked 122nd in the world, Arno Pijpers’ men will be hard pushed to make a match of it with anyone but Andorra. They’re something of a footballing enigma, though rumours their away strip is a revealing lime green mankini are yet to be confirmed.

Andorra

This tiny principality have already been on the receiving end of unanswered thumpings from the men in white recently and unless there’s a dramatic turn in fortunes they’re doomed to duke it out with the Kazakhs for the wooden spoon.
