What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a tool to distribute new content from websites directly to your desktop without you having to visit the website yourself.
Why use RSS?
Using RSS means that you don't have to visit several websites to get the information that is most relevant to you. Most RSS readers check for new content every hour, so you can view the latest headlines and decide what you want to read within minutes of its publication.
What do I need to get started?
First, you need to download an RSS reader. There are many different kinds available and you should choose the one that best suits your needs. The links below are to help you access an RSS reader more quickly, however Virgin Media accepts no responsibility for external websites.
For Windows: Active Web Reader, Newz Crawler, and FeedDemon
For Mac: Newsfire, NetNewsWire, and Pulpfiction
Next select your content. Any content available to you as an RSS feed is usually linked by the words "RSS feed". To subscribe simply drag the URL of the RSS feed into your RSS reader. You will then be subscribed to that RSS feed and automatically receive updates.
