After an excellent second half of 2006, including Jenson Button's debut victory in Hungary, many were convinced that this year would be the one when Honda could finally make a credible title challenge.
It has hardly been that way so far - the three Asian races have seen even Super Aguri, racing last year's Honda, outpace them as Button and Rubens Barrichello have struggled with both grip and pace.
The cars may be saving the world with their livery but they are miles way from the points placings let alone the rostrum at present, and it's hard to see how Button's patience aith the team will last.
With the corporate backing at their disposal Honda will surely come good, but that much-predicted breakthrough looks far away and they will do well to recover to finish 5th.
