Best pals and couples are often even more memorable than individual housemates.
Luke and Rebecca's relationship from the last series is still going strong, despite seeming to be an unlikely pairing.
And how can we forget the antics of inseparable pink-loving twins Sam and Amanda Marchant in BB8?
Here is a selection of the nation's favourites...
1 - Melanie Hill and Thomas McDermott (BB1)
Melanie became the first Big Brother pin-up when the male housemates began lusting after her. Andy Davidson managed to get a sneaky kiss but it was Tom who stole the headlines when massaging Mel left him somewhat aroused.
2 - Helen Adams and Paul Clarke (BB2)
This unlikely pairing became the longest-lasting Big Brother romance. Welsh Helen's boundless energy captivated Paul, and her 'Helenisms' including, "I like blinking I do," made her a favourite in the outside world. They split after a five-year relationship.
3 - Victor Ebuwa and Jason Cowen (BB5)
These pals spent plenty of time setting the world to rights in the BB house and were the ringleaders of the Jungle Cats clique.
4 - Stuart Wilson and Michelle Bass (BB5)
Stu and Michelle caused a stir when they spent a mysterious hour under the living room table, away from the camera's gaze.
5 - Saskia Howard-Clarke and Maxwell Ward (BB6)
Maxwell set his sights on Saskia early on, and eventually got his girl. In a house of cliques and gangs, the duo became leaders of one of the camps.
6 - Pete Bennett and Nikki Grahame (BB7)
Pete and the Princess got together after tantrum-prone Nikki was brought back into the house, having been voted out by the public. They had a few cheeky snogs but the romance was short-lived, as they split up within days of leaving.
7 - Sam and Amanda Marchant (BB8)
The twins, known as 'Samanda', brought their love of pink and girlish giggles into the house. They entered as two separate contestants, but seemingly morphed into one entity as they were always together and finished each other's sentences, and were eventually told by BB they were up for eviction as a single housemate.
8 - Ziggy Lichman and Chanelle Hayes (BB8)
Ziggy entered the house as the only male with 11 female companions, but it was Chanelle who caught his eye. Tasked with inviting them to join him for dinner one at a time, he saved Chanelle for last and the flirtation started there.
9 - Luke Marsden and Rebecca Shiner (BB9)
Take one studious teetotaller and one loud-mouthed lager lass, and you get the perfect partnership according to Luke and Rebecca. The two bonded, with Luke repeatedly shouting "Rebecca, no!" as he watched her drunken escapades. They are still together a year on.
10 - Rachel Rice and Kathreya Kasisopaat (BB9)
It was lucky Rachel and Kat got on because they spent a few days strapped together as a two-headed llama for their zoo task. However, their incessant singing and silliness began to grate on the others.
