Dramatic studies graduate Alan left his native Glasgow for a part in daytime soap Take The High Road in 1980. Since then he's carved out a handy niche in a series of Hollywood films including Golden Eye, Josie and the Pussycats, X-Men 2 and Nicholas Nickleby.
