Incontinence? Thai mail-order brides? ASBO teens talking ten to the dozen? That'll be Little Britain then. In the space of three years Little Britain has become a comedy phenomenon and national obsession, with the latest series hauling in an impressive 9m viewers.

With a sell-out live tours and Little Britain dolls on sale in their honour, Matt Lucas and David Walliams have proved to have a real knack for sending up the Great British public.

Making its debut as a sketch show on Radio 4, their comic characters soon picked up and the show was transferred to television. After three successful series and the birth of countless catchphrases, including Vicky Pollard’s “Yeah...but…no…but”, Lou's “I want that one” and Daffyd’s “I am the only gay in the village”, Little Britain now looks set to conquer the states with an American version to screen this year.
