Combining hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, profiling and a hefty dash of showmanship, Derren is the leader of the mentalist pack – and he's British to boot. Women are drawn to him, men want to be him. Well, some of them, anyway.

Much less showy than our Derren, Mentalist Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) uses his powers for crime-fighting rather than entertainment. He's just as good as Derren at all the profiling stuff, and has much better hair.
