Matthew Wolfenden's fake tan ban

Matthew Wolfenden has been banned from wearing fake tan by his 'Emmerdale' bosses.

The hunky actor has been using the bronzing product to make sure he looks his tanned best for when he competes in 'Dancing On Ice' but producers of the ITV1 soap aren't happy because there's no way his character David Metcalfe would have a tan in the Yorkshire winter.

So Matthew, 31, has to have easily-removed tans that wash off after every performance rather than full treatments.

An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "It would like really odd if one day he's walking through the village with a tan in the middle of winter."

Matthew has impressed with his skating skills and he recently admitted winning the show would be as good as taking home an Olympic gold medal.

The handsome star had been a promising gymnast before a back injury ended his career at just 17 years old and he is hoping the drive he had when he was in training for the sport will give him the competitive edge he needs to do well in the celebrity skating contest.

He said: "I'd have loved to have been in the Olympics but it would be as good as winning an Olympic gold if I won 'Dancing On Ice'!

"People might not be as impressed but it would mean a lot to me. I'm enjoying the show so much, I've learned a new skill.

"I'm still competitive - I keep fit and do triathalons."
