The X Factor juggernaut travelled to Belfast, Manchester and Birmingham this week in the relentless search for the next superstar.
First up to put Simon in a bad mood in Belfast were 44 year old twins Michelle and Julie Croghan who work as funeral singers and were hoping to swap the crematorium for the auditorium. Simon looks shocked. “I’ve got to be honest girls, I’d want to throw myself in the coffin after that.”
Then, as the auditions move on to Birmingham, 45 year old IT worker Alison has been preparing for her chance in front of the judges along with her singing coach. But Simon's verdict? "I'd ask for a refund." Then there's Andy who hopes to be a No.1 selling artist. The judges disagree, strongly. And watch out for the next Girls Aloud!
