She was inspired to enter the contest after watching Leona Lewis last year but sadly, she didn't get to the final like Leona before her. It was Alisha's turn to leave the X Factor on Saturday, finally losing out in the sing-off against girlband Hope after, what we thought, was a fairly plucky and tuneful version of Candi Staton's Young Hearts Run Free.
Some spiteful comments from Mr. Nasty Cowell about the roller skating backing dancers didn't help Alisha's cause or indeed, a good luck phone message from Sir Richard Branson himself just before Saturday's show.
Ah well, onwards and upwards. As Alisha says. "This isn't the end. I want this to be a platform to better things."
